Down by the slough

Just a few pics i thought might be worth posting.
Fairly new to photography so any feedback is much appreciated.

#2 is your best shot of this series (imo). There's a good range of sunset colours and the silhouettes of the trees make for a nice shot. The others have a lot of sun flare (not sure if that's the correct term) that distracts from the sunset.

#4 looks like it could give you some great moody shots, nice composition with the grey clouds behind the drooping branches.

I had noticed that darn flare coming off the sun aswell...
Anyone care to share some techniques for minimizing this effect if you know any?

I like them all but im definitely feeling that last one. Composition rocks on it...kind of other worldly...
