Dragons in Flight

Took alot of patience to get these shots.
These big Dragonflies only sit still in the morning.
But during the hot parts of the day I observed them circling single small puddles and defending there territory.
They would patrol and stop in certain spots.
I tried two different lightings with the flash ring.

I like the way the wings look in #1 better. I find the backgrounds a little bland, but great shots regardless. Whatever is in the upper right background of #2 is distracting. And the dragonfly in #1 is a little overexposed in my eyes. Not an easy photo to get though.

Nice shot for something moving like that, but I agree with Montana. It would be hard to get any shot better than that with them moving.

Great pics, on a very hard subject, I to have tried severel times to catch some of these buggers with little to no luck..........
