The aperture ring on older lenses. Nikon. AF.

If the dial on the camera adjusts aperture in A mode (and it does), can one also adjust the aperture with the ring on the lens, or is this prevented by the camera when in A mode?

    *runs away*

I *think* that if you have the lens set to anything other than the minimum aperture, the camera will throw an error and not allow aperture adjustment. But i'm not sure !

So basically i think the lens overrides the camera, but i really don't know ! Sorry !

^ Yeah that's correct. You need to set the lens to the minimum aperture, and then set the ring lock so that it doesn't move around on you, otherwise you'll get errors.
