Hi!

I just exported the same RAW in DxO and LR to jpeg. Same settings, 90%, 300DPI. No correction except for the lens.

DxO - 2.84 MB (2,979,156 bytes),
LR - 4.96 MB (5,203,044 bytes).

I did export a few more and DxO always gives me a much smaller files. Can someone please explain where is the massive size difference coming from?

I'd guess more aggressive compression algorithm, but unless DxO provides the details (which I doubt as they're not very open when it comes to their gear testing), only a reverse-engineering of the source code would give you a definitive answer (which would be a breach of license terms etc., so not advisable).

Why does it bother you? Do you actually see a difference in final quality?

It doesn't bother me a bit since I'm moving away from LR but if I export hundreds of photos a day it would save me some storage space (and $). The quality of exported photos is the same. I've been looking at a few samples on 4k screen for a few hours and I can't see a difference. I was just curious how come the difference is so big.
