Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I've posted a few photos recently that have edges that I created using photoshop and inverse masking and filters. I don't like them. It there a nother way to create mostly unique edges around your photo. What I'm trying to create is the worn away edges like those from actual darkroom plates...errrr....like this....

(THIS IS NOT MY PHOTO!!! this is from the nifty program site)

but without dishing out the cash for the nifty program. help me otherwise my simple mind will explode!!!

start with your image
make a selection around the inside of the image
invert the selection
press the quickmask button on the tools pallete or press "Q"
use the filter/distort/ripple effect ( i find it to be easy)
change the setting to about -500%
Turn off the quick mask using the button or pressing "Q" again
invert the selection again
press control+shift+J to move selection to a new layer
fill the background with white
add a drop shadow effect to top it off..

also you can try Photo Edges. That is a program that creates wonderful edges and frames and you can manipulate with them. but it is a huge program and takes a lot of space
