Editing software?

What editing software is best? Does anyone like anything from apple (iphoto) or is that too sophomoric?

There are many advocates of Aperture, though it is not true "editing" software. It allows for a lot of classic photography manipulation but is not a pixel level editor. It competes more with Adobe's Lightroom than with Adobe's Photoshop line

BTW, the vast bulk of the responders are off topic with their discussions of the various versions of Photoshop. Photoshop is an Adobe product. While its availabe for Apple, its not one from Apple.

Also for the Photoshop responders; The Academic version of Photoshop has one major difference. Its license grants no upgrade rights. You can't upgrade to the next version from an older version when the older version runs under an Academic license.

How is Aperture for working with your photos?
download a trial and try it out.....that's the ONLY way you will find out for sure....
