I guess this isn't a question...

Just sold my Sony VX2000 on ebay. I plan on getting a more "modest" camcorder and using the $ to upgrade from a 300d to the 20d. Good times.

Also I just put my Rebel up with a starting price of $550 (body plus battery + manual)

very nice! I'm saving up to make the move to the canon family first, then I may consider switching to digital! The 20D = I love that thing! I got to play with one at Best Buy and they had to practically pry my fingers off!

how much did you sell the VX2K for? did you just use it as a general camcorder before you sold it or do proper filimg with it?

Someone did a "buy it now" for $1550. I barely used it. It was an unbelivable camcorder though, esp. in low light. I originally had plans to use it for videography but I just couldn't get that off the ground. I never had plans to make any indy film with it, and from what I could tell most of what you could do with it was recording weddings, and that just didn't interest me much at all. Photography takes much, much more skill and imagination imho. Most of the skill and imagination of video seems to be in the editing, and that is a very time-consuming process that was no fun at all to me.

So, I'm re-investing the funds into photog, and I'll by a more "sane" camcorder for family and stuff. cya

Actually the other thing a vx2000 is used for is, it's extremely popular for use on porno sites, but I'm married so that was out

well originally the VX1K was a real good camera but not so good in low light but the 2K picked up on that. I know a lot about these cameras because they are also the favourite camera of skate filmers, except maybe the canon VX2100.
recording weddings would be terrible :) photos arent to bad but if you have to stand there filming the whole thing would just be boring!,
i do filming but i have a lot of fun with editing- using adobe premiere pro there is so much to do so i love it

The VX2100 is from Sony also - it's basically a VX2000 with slighly better low light and a nicer look to it. same cam though.

And I agree about filming weddins... I had no interest in that at all. Now filming porno's... 8)
