effect I got when using a "remote optical flash"

I just thought I would share this shot I took using a remote optical flash... nothing pro but kinda cool looking I think...

That picture is a little big. I'm running 1600x1200 and its annoying to me. I think the rule on the forum is no larger than 800 pix wide or tall depending on your longer side.

Cool picture, but for some reason it doesn't feel like it has any depth to me, especially around the horses noses.

How would I get depth in this shot?

Hard for me to say. I think its just something with the way the horses heads are so close together combined with the angle. Then again I could just be crazy.

Anytime you can get a flash off the camera, I would say you are moving in the right direction. Looks good to me.

here is another shot I got that day using the flash held above me... I like this shot but then again, I'm a beginer for sure.

It looks great, you have a good (maybe perfect) mix of ambient and flash exposure. Well done.
