El Barto has been sighted

For the Simpsons movie premier they painted a statue of a horse and rider yellow and "tagged" it with El Barto, Bart Simpsons tag. Unfortunately they used glossy paint so it reflected badly in some spots. Anyway this was fun for the real home of the Simpsons, Springfield Oregon.

I know, ugly statue. It's like a hundred years old.

Which makes me wonder how we are to know which one's "the real" Springfield?

So will they be able to scratch off that yellow ever again?

The creator of the Simpsons is actually from Portland Oregon so we all like to believe that's reason enough, but then again maybe we all need a life. They already painted it white again, the original color. This was a stunt they did during the "Vote for Springfield" contest from USA Today.
