Mmm'kay, see, those movies from the 70s and 80s...they're set AFTER these new movies. And since she wasn't in those old 70s movies, it's a fair bet she gets waxed.

;) :p

theres a smart ass around every corner.
of course she is not there in the old movies, but alot can happen in 20 years.

look at obiwan kenobi, he gets his ass whipped by vader, but is he dead???? i dont think so.

That's like all the ppl that were debating whether or not palpatine was darth sideous. Fercryinoutloud people!! That's a big giant DUH in my book.

Dude the Star wars prequels have for the most part followed the prequel books from the late 70's early eigties. The have been no big suprises for me in any of them. If the thrid movie is anything like the book, (which i heard it was) then Obi Wan kicks the **** outa Anikan (ending with some force push or something into a lava pit) and thats why Anikan has to wear the vader outfit. Obi Wan, getting older, and knowing that Vader is still the chosen one goes with Luke and Leia and decides to hide out on Tattooine to be able to someday mentor Luke. Thats why he is there, not because he got his ass kicked. This shouldn't be considered spoiling anything because it has been known for 20 yrs in the books.
If anyone hasn't figured it out yet Vader still is the one that brings balance back to the force, not Luke. (i.e. he is the chosen one, not Luke)
Lucus oversee's anything that has to do in the star Wars universe, they explained the prequels 20 yrs ago and that are all unfolding according to his plan from then. Technology changes which changed the minor parts of the story, (i.e. Jar Jar and pod racing) but there haven't been any major suprises.

The thing that bothers me is that with the original series we were all so in love with the overall meaning of the story that we never relized how lacking Lucas is as a director, as a dialog writer he is even worse. The first two movies should have been contracted out to James Cameron or Speilberg to direct. I have yet to see a decent acting job by any of the actors in the prequels. Its not due to the lack of acring talet, cuz its a powerhouse of acotrs in these flicks,. THe sole reason for the poor and choppy acting rests on the shoulders of the man that writes all the dialog, Mr Lucas. In the original series lucus didn't write the dialog for Empire strikes Back, he let someone else write it for him, that is the reason why most consider Empire the best movie of the original trilogy, only because the only so talented Lucus tried to keep his hands off. The bulk of the story happened in Empire, and it was the movie that finally showed us characters that were more then skin deep. Go back and watch the originals with a skeptical eye, you all will notice this as well.
I will see episode 3 because like Shark, i just wanna see how it plays out on screen, but there are several factors already telling me that this movie will disapoint. One Lucus is writing it, two, Lucus is so money driven (started with Ewoks in ep. 6) that now he writes in stupid and meaninless characters to try to appeal to kids, i.e. Jar Jar and the circus that R2 and CP3o became in the 2 prequels) The only reason he does this is so that kids will wanna buy toys and further bolster his bank account. Three. Hayden Christinson is about as convincing as darth vader as Charlie Brown would be. The kid can't act, all he does is whine, and Lucus has not written anything remotely painful enough to convert the sweet kid from the first movie into what essentiallly is a space Hitler. 4 the idea that every character of importance in the last three movies has to be represented in the prequels is proposterous. The young Bobba Fett was stupid, the intro of Uncle Owen and Lukes aunt was a waste of film. OK Ankin slaughtered some Sand People, OHHHHH now he must be evil, considering everyone slaughters them if they get a chance, it leaves me less then conviced of Anikans evil nature. And then i heard a rumor that we are going to see a teenage Han Solo.... Say it aint so George, please spare us the stupidity of that. I can see it now, Anikan will walk through a space casino where Han Solo wins the Millineum Falcon in a card game. Dumb, who cares....
At this point the prequels are a semi decent series in themselves. But they are nothing compared to the originals. There really is nothing Lucas can do to salvage the prequels and make them as good as the originals. I am preparing for Lucus to keep us pacified by tons of CGI and special effects, because that is the extent of his talents. Unfortunatly CGI and Special effects couldn't redeem the first two, so i am doubting that it will redeem the series with the last one.

As for the other conversation going on in this thread. The Matix trilogy was also a major letdown. Iwas ready to believe until the last twenty minutes of the movie, thats when it became a piece of **** movie. The Brothers Grimm, that produced and directed it, relized they didn't know how to end it, so they didn't, but still hyped that they did. You can kill off whoever you want, Neo Trinity, Even Morpheus and the Oracle, but you can not tell me that machines would honor a peace agreement with the humans. It has no benefit to them. The point of the first 2 movies was to destry the machines, that was the focus, so now you tell me in the last twenty minutes of the third movie that we don't need to destroy the machines anymore? I call BULL ****!!!

The Machines understand us, Smith Understood humanity, as did the archetict (to a certain degree) What in the machines experiences would tell them that we are trustworthy, why would they beliee that we would just leave them alone on the surface of our planet, and continue to grow humans as batteries.... The machines know that it is mans nature to dominate and control. THey must iknow eventually we would be gunning for them. Thats why they wanted to destroy us in the first place, If we weren't a threatthen they would never have attacked.
Also what expirences had the humans had with machines to make us believe the machines were trustworthy. With Neo Gone there is not one damn thing to stop the machines from finishing the attack on Zion the day after the movie ended. If the machines wanted to guarantee they would remain as the dominate force on the planet they would have to finish the job.

The Matrix movies got too self important, and they lost their real fans when they started producion on the second movie. The Brothers Grimm ( I call them that because their last name is damn near unpronouncable, and even more unspellable) Didn't know how to end the war completely. They had no answer to the real story, so they tried to divert our attention and change the focus of the trilogy to somthing less then what we needed, which was the destruction of the machines. I could have written 5 different endings myself that would have been better then the real ending. And i am sure you guys could have too.

I heard they had another ending planned but ran out of money after filming the freeway scene and the fight for Scion so they had to throw this ending together. That would truely be a sad thing since both movies were made at the same time, the revenue from the 2nd movie alone would be enough to justify writing and filming a new ending to the third movie.
Anyways i have rambled enough, but man these movies have dissapointed.........

You're right, Hav, I didn't really mean to blame poor Natalie for what Lucas got out of her, but man... she's done some brilliant work, I hope she is able to get back to it. At one point I would have agreed with you about Hayden, who totally seems like a talentless hack, but we saw this movie called My Life as a House (I think)(don't feel like looking it up) and he was actually really good. So again, bad dialogue and bad directing goes a long way. You'd think these actors would be pissed at Lucas for making them look so completely bad...

I still think they should get Jessica Alba in there as a member of the dark side. Maybe she and Armadilla can battle it out in the mud pits of Tatoonie. ( not that I have really thought it out.) :)

And did anyone else get slightly sleepy when the Neo vs The Smiths fight scene dragged on FOREVER.

Thats why the dvd version is nice, you can hit the next chapter button half way through each fight scene. Every fight scene in the last 2 matrix movies were twice to long. After leo hits each smith 200 times, you would think that he would pick up a weapon or something to keep them down. Its obvious punching doesnt do it.

The first one was good, but mostly becuase you were trying to understand what the matrix was. The last 2 just suck.

I enjoyed the hype over star wars episode 1, lots of fond memories. Star wars 2 was a let down but it could have been worse. Hopefully they will make episodes VII, VIII and iX, theres rumor that lucas's kids may do it when they get control over it.

Anyone looking forward to Resident Evil 2? :0)
