In my mind,
I see structure
reaching to the sky
and losing to the air
like smoke, dissipating.
Was I dreaming?

Edit: picture "corrected" to remove distracting twig in water.

I think I would get rid of that pointy thing entering the frame on the left.
Other that that, a nice abstract.

Impermanence, a fine image. Kudos my friend. Ed

Yes, now that you mention it, it's kinda annoying. A second set of eyes is a good thing. Thanks!

Yeah, good angle. For me is the big question. What's the photo's about?...

got me. It just looks like a failed reflection photo. I might be too grounded for this type of thing.

Thank you, Ed. Yes, you put your finger on it - we build these solid structures, and yet, in the larger scheme of things, they are impermanent and destined to disappear. The reflection seemed to make that point.

The photo's about anything you want to see in it. My vision does not have to be yours. You are, in fact, quite welcome to reimagine it any way you wish.

Agree on the pointy thing; very nicely captured Paul!

Thank you John. That pointy thing was a branch floating on the spring current. I just didn't see it when taking the image, or doing the first processing. So as I mentioned to Sleist, a second set of eyes always helps.

Thank you, Brian for the comment. I can assure you the reflection is not a failure - it passed all the physics laws and did the right amout of light bending. My image of it, of course, is another matter. For someone who's grounded, perhaps the following image will be more interesting, as it does show the scene, right side up, and without any visual trickery.

yep. like the second one better. Again though, just my take.

Abstract thinking.
Harder for some than others.

Photography is (to me at least) not so much about capturing reality.
I think it's about capturing what catches your eye. And then trying to explain to everyone else why.

I went on a 9 mile photo walk though Boston today.
As usual, I had no plan except bringing the cameras and lenses I wanted to see with.
I took 137 images over 4.5 hours.
I shot what caught my eye.
I won't know why until I see them tonight while processing.

The OP saw something and tried to capture it.
When he got home and looked, he asked himself why.

His answer is what he showed us.

It's like direct link to someone else's subconscious.

I like this very much :) Nicely seen and shot!
