Export Tiff or Jpeg for printing

I have another 'beginners' LR question. I've sent some of my prints to the local shop for prints, but exported my files as Jpegs(100%, 300dpi, sharpen for glossy print). The size was 20*30 cm (guess that is 8x12 on your side the pond) and I was very happy with the results.

I was just wondering if you will get better results if you export as tiff or not? Think my 450D has 12MP...

I have only done jpeg at 300dpi like you did. Never tried Tiff. Your printer will tell you whats best. For canvas prints my printer wants 150dpi.

I don't print on site, I send it to a photo lab. Think they still print with one of those huge machines that we know from our film days. If I go larger than 20x30 they use a printer.
