Fast lens?

    Fast/high speed lens. What does this term mean? Large aperture? Just curious here.

    Yup, fast is what you would call a lens with a large maximum aperture. F2.8, F1.8, F1.4 etc

    Probably called that because a wider aperture lets you use a faster shutter speed.

    A bit off topic.. but... anyone remember ( or have ) the Canon 50mm f0.95 lens that was made for their rangefinders? What a beautiful piece of glass.. There's one for sale locally and boy would it look good in my collection. now thats a fast lens...
