I enjoy going to local biking events that don't take themselves too seriously. This was very much one of those. Here's a couple pictures that sum up the mood of the event: This is my typical style of photography in this setting. Wide open, short shutter time, more of a head on view: However, after reading on this forum (on some of the motocross threads), I decided to experiment with some other techniques. Much higher f stop, longer shutter time (I found I really enjoyed this effect): I also tried doing an even longer shutter speed and panning. First time ever doing this, and I LOVE the way these turned out. For those that might be interested, I found 1/60 was about the right shutter speed to get a static rider. So part of this post is a definite "Thank You" to those that have generated useful discussion elsewhere, and part of it is "Hey check my pics", and the last part is "Critique ALWAYS welcome"
