Am I correct in saying that I can use older FD mount lenses on my Canon EOS 50D or my EOS Elan II which both use the EF mount? And logically, they will only be fully manual?

One of my uncles is offering to give me some old gear and there are three old FD lenses among the "stuff"... a 24mm, a 50 mm, and a 200mm.

To be honest, I would not bother using the FD lens on my Canon digital unless the lens is a super nice lens to begin with. If I get nice lens such as the 200mm f/1.8 or 30mm f/2.8 FD lens, I do not mind get an adapter for it.

Focus wise, it will be manual. But some of the adapter I saw said it has focus confirm.

While other old lenses can be used with a straight, lensless adapter on EOS, due to registration distance FD needs an optical adapter to focus at infinity, so quality will degrade, and also focal length and aperture will change slightly (the adapter acts as a short teleconverter). Indeed they exist, including the expensive original Canon adapter sold when they switched from FD (1.26x focal length, -2/3 stops).
It might be more convenient to buy an used mirrorless -any kind- where you could use a lensless adapter.

FD lenses are not compatible with EOS cameras, the mount is different.
As mentioned, you can use an adapter, but that's not a great solution because a glassless adapter limits your focus range and one with glass will reduce the image quality you are used to with EF lenses.
