Feel the Rainbow

Unfortunately, she wasn't posing for me, so I didn't really have time to adjust the camera. As such, it's just a snapshot, but it was too good of a shot to miss it, even if it wasn't the best picture.

Who was she posing for then in the end, and why was she lit up in these rainbow colours?
If I had come past that scene, I would have gotten out my camera to capture the moment, too. For sure! As you are saying: such was too good a moment to be missed, wasn't it?

Several things were going on to prevent me from getting a great shot:

1) she was posing for her father, uncle, grandfather--someone...family.
2) when she left the Girl flatly refused to pose for me
3) some other family stepped into the light when the little girl and her family left.

This was taken in the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian. There must be either cut glass or a prism in the wall windows that created the rainbow. My guess is that it happens everyday, but as the season changes, my guess is that it will appear less frequently until summer comes again.

Perhaps next year.
