Hello,

I recieved a SPECTRUM 7 1 A filter with a lens I recently purchuse, I am wondering what applications I can use this filter for, and if it is any good, the brand is PROMASTER. Thanks for the help :)

A #1A filter is a "skylight" filter, I believe. If you hold it up to a white piece of paper you will notice a hint of pink/warmth. It will cut UV haze, and adds a hint of warmth to color images. This is handy when dealing with electric flash and when shooting in the shade, which can give a bluish color cast to your color photos. Most folks probably just leave it on their lens all the time as it's also good protection; if you bash the front of your lens you wreck a $10 filter rather than an expensive lens.
