Hey guys.
I'm thinking about getting some filters. I am looking on eBay and a lot of filters are listed with different sizes, like 58mm. Does this mean that it is only for a 58mm lens? How does this work with my main lens, which is 18-55mm?

Thanks.

Look underneath your lens cap. Most of the time, it would say the filter size you need for the lens.

18-55mm is your lens' focal length (how far in and out you can zoom) The number you are looking for is the diameter of your lens, if you look closely at the front of your lens you will see where the filter actually "screws" into your lens, and thats why the filter and lens need to be the same size. Hope that helps.

Also there will be on the lense body an o with a slash through it, which is the filter designation.
