Nice to see something in the yard other than spiders.

    1. I know, I clipped the wing...*doh*

    2. Clipped the wings on purpose in this one though

    4. Again...wing clipped on purpose for framing....didn't mean to clip the antenna though

First butterfly shots with the T180 and this lens keeps on impressing me.

Nice shots except for what you have already mentioned. Good job.

Thank you Tom. I'm hoping this guy comes back tomorrow so I can try to fix my mistakes with a new shoot.

Since you were so good with ID on my other thread.....I'm thinking this one is a Morning Cloak Butterfly. Any idea if that is correct?

Nice! I still need to get a macro.

That is one odd looking butterfly...

Butterflies are difficult and they did come out nice for a first time.

    Thanks

Macro is my favorite type of photography. So much fun running around chasing butterflies (though I look like a loon standing on the railing of my deck to get a shot).

    Thank you

    Thanks Lucy.

Thank you. They have usually been too fast for me in the past, but these guys were too interested in the lilac I suppose to really care what I was doing.
