Fireworks and Exploding Chairs - TPF Germany Meet-Up

I didn't know you guys had already been posting pictures!!!!

Wow...there are far to many to comment on them all right now! LOTS of great shots from everyone!!! It looks like you all had such an amazing time! I really REEEEEALLY wish I could have been there! I'm glad you guys were all able to have such a great time!!!

Can't wait to see more!

Well, i downloaded the pics to my computer.........724. But im sad to say that i lost all my shots that i made on the Hamburg day, due to a HD f*** up. Which is a shame, since i made some nice shots there. Ah well, still got more then enough to edit.
I also made my 50.000 shot on this trip......well it was on my flight to the trip. Its a shot of my hometown, from the plane :)
Pics will be posted asap, which will probably be tomorow.

edit: i pretty much lost every shot between the fireworks and the start of Luneburg.

Well here's a start to mine...

1. Near Corinna's home in Lauenbrück

10. The first shot from Hamburg

2538593513_6cfc5e4aa2_o.jpg

11. I think this little guy was suitably impressed with the TPF passage through Hamburg. I started the ball rolling with this shot, but by the time everyone else had given it a go, his collecting tin was full to overflowing.

12. Euro 2008 can't come too soon - the big screen outside the Rathaus...

13. Anty & Doenoe fail to appreciate that they've just become extras in a Pigeon Porn skin flick...

14. The Rathaus (town hall) viewed across the bit of water in front of it...

18. Probably fair to say that by this point, Jeff was feeling well past his sell by - Hamburg was a long day!

2538596347_ebb63bebc5_o.jpg

19. And on to Luneburg...

20. ...and the sun came out a bit too.

21. A Luneburg door. This is the first I took, expect to see many, many more before too long.

22. Just good friends...

23. On the way back from Luneburg, we stopped at the church in Raven, this was taken in the graveyard as were many more.

25. Underneath the arches of Bremen Rathaus

26. This seems to be the symbol of Bremen - a donkey, a dog, a cat and a cockerall - something to do with the Brothers Grimm

27. From the Bremen marketplace

Now I need to go and process some more :er:

As well as photographer, there were also some animals to look at. In true German style, the drinking troughs were actually Lowenbrau pumps - well it was Sunday afternoon after all.

tpfg-165.jpg

The donkeys had made an early start on the Lowenbrau and were a bit all over the place

tpfg-166.jpg

I think I pulled!

Hello darlin!

tpfg-171.jpg

This beauty was sat in the corner giving me the eye and slowly cheing on her gum

tpfg-177.jpg

and the woolly pigs enjoyed a menage au trois - looked like sausages to me!

tpfg-178.jpg

There was also various types of wood in the park, you had long wood

tpfg-167.jpg

Sawn wood

tpfg-168.jpg

Spiky wood

tpfg-169.jpg

and old wood...

tpfg-175.jpg

Alex kept himself busy chasing the local wildlife

tpfg-170.jpg

Before long though, the camouflage on the peacock meant that it had disappeared into the grass and couldn't be found - Alex enlisted the help of Christiane, and they both spent some time searching for it...

tpfg-173.jpg

Sandie spotted it as she came down from her hide, and Alex readied himself to go off in search of his prey once again

tpfg-174.jpg

In the meantime, Corinna sheltered under some trees from the light rain and took photos of bulls and stuff

tpfg-176.jpg

Shortly after this, the rain became more persistent, so we rounded up the rest of the TPF crew who were worrying goats at this point, and headed off to the cafe for more light refreshments.

When I arrived, I found that Sky had already found the kids activity box, and was busy building a little piece of America in the North German countryside whilst Daan chuckled over the pics he had got of the goats.

tpfg-179.jpg

Coffee and cake seemed to be the order of the day as is German tradition - we didn't wan't to look like tourists!

tpfg-180.jpg

Hertz - who was still trying to stay awake after chewing caffiene laced gum, opted for two coffees and a bit of cake to keep the hyper levels up

tpfg-181.jpg

Lesson for you youngsters out there - don't spill coffee on your camera, be careful when you spoon!

tpfg-183.jpg

Fully satisfied, and had enough of the strawberry cake stuff, we set off from the cafe - next stop - Church!

tpfg-184.jpg

We arrived in the next town Seeschel - with one of them funny double S things that looks like a B - and the group looked suitably solemn for a visit to church...

tpfg-185.jpg

The alleyway that led to Corinnas church was wuite confusing, you were't allowed to ride a motorbike with a rider down there, nor could your bicycle go down on it's own without a rider. Those crazy Germans!

tpfg-186.jpg

After some banging on the door and going round the back to break in, Corinna managed to get us inside. We made nots of the shiny things should we choose to come back on a night raid

tpfg-187.jpg

We checked out the access points both internally

tpfg-188.jpg

...and externally

tpfg-189.jpg

More shiny things!

tpfg-190.jpg

Sky took the position of the conductor and directed operations whilst trying to keep very still due to slow shutter speeds and low light

tpfg-191.jpg

The seats waited for the choir to arrive

tpfg-192.jpg

And the beautiful staircase spiralled away

tpfg-193.jpg

From the outside the church looked plainer than it did once you got to know it, a bit like people really

tpfg-196.jpg

Waiting for the others, I just hung around on the street corner

tpfg-197.jpg

Bidding farewell to the church, we set off for a wander around town

tpfg-198.jpg

I think the sign was telling me to shoot it at 150mm and either f2.8 or f5.6, but I took a chance and did 40mm @ f4 - rebel I are!

tpfg-199.jpg

Arriving in the town centre, we almost losr sight of each other again in the milling crowds

tpfg-200.jpg

Searching for evidence that there was life in the town I discovered what appeared to be the fossilised backbone of some mystical creature - where was Alex the scientist when I needed him?

tpfg-201.jpg

Feeling slightly lonely, I decided to take a photo of the only living thing near me - me!

tpfg-202.jpg

Eventually, we arrived back at base and Sky downloaded his shots from the day and found one that pleased both him and Jeanne

tpfg-203.jpg

Hertz gave Alex and Daan a lecture on the evils of drink as he popped another caffiene laced chewing gum into his mouth

tpfg-204.jpg

Feeling slighty worried that it had been a Sunday and the shops were closed, I checked the fridge to make sure we had enough supplies to get us through to the morning...

tpfg-206.jpg

satisfied that there was enough to enable our survival, Daan looked suitably relaxed

tpfg-207.jpg

TPF porn - note, tissues are available!

tpfg-208.jpg

All of a sudden, there was a stranger in our midst, he came bearing several hundred pizzas and a couple of bottles of wine - you never know when you might need them!

tpfg-209.jpg

Whilst everyone else said grace, Alex tore into a pepperoni with extra cheese - only to discover that pepperoni in Germany is large pickled peppers - probably picked by peter piper (try saying that with a mouthful!)

tpfg-211.jpg

Sabine made a work of art from her pizza baguette, but remained tight lipped about the meaning of it

tpfg-213.jpg

Everyone had finished, and being the healthy people that we are, we saved the salads for the next morning - along with six or seven pizzas. Alex carried on eating, I think it's to feed his hair and keep it erect

tpfg-214.jpg

Myself? I'd had enough for one day, and waved my wee white flag

tpfg-212.jpg
