First attempt at photographing people... (C&C please)

I know I've made some compostion errors... missing tops of heads, arms cut off... I'm still struggling with focus and exposure and all that stuff so any help would be great.

1: f5.6, iso100, 1/400th

2: f8.0, iso100, 1/80

3: f9.0, iso 100, 1/100

4: f8.0, iso100, 1/125

And there are no rules. I've seen tight crops from famous photographers that have body parts cut off and everyone praises them. Why? Because their famous.
