First B&W Shot: Creepy Weather at the Park

This is part of my first series of monochrome shots with my DRebel Xt1 (400D). I like the thematic contrast provided by the floodlight tower. Like, the light of science and learning standing tall against the creeping danger of ignorance and superstition. But perhaps I'm reading too much into it.

Correction. Actually, that was my Rebel XT (350D), not my XTi (400D). I only shoot color with that one!

Hmmm... honestly doesn't really do much for me. The colour seems a bit too much on the red side, and I think that more contrast might give you the "creepiness" you're looking for.

Aaw...And I used a sepia tint with a yellow filter and everything. Oh, well. How about this then?

Nothing yet? Well, I guess I should have taken that shot with my XTi after all.

It just seems kinda "meh." It doesn't really have a central point of interest, my mind doesn't know what to focus on.

Well, my granddaughter said it was creepy. So there. And what about this other one? She said it looked like a gigantic foot. And it has a lot of red in it.
