first day out with my camera

Well, this was my first day out shooting and out of 25 shots this is the only one I kinda like (I think the depth of field is too shallow)

Oh well thoughts, comments, critique please

Using olympus OM2 in manual mode:

your depth of field is just fine from a good image point of view. The emphasis is on the end of the rope, which works well. With more depth of field the background would take away from the point of interest. Nice shot.

I couldn't agree more. Any more DOF would take away from your subject. The blurred background looks great.
