What a pity that two have those blemishes... Fruit of Kidron... what does that translate into? Grapefruit? Any other fruit known under a different name?

You are correct, they are grapefruit.

Kidron is a moshav that is right next to the town in Israel where my wife is from. When were there visiting, we walk through Kidron every morning for our daily exercise. The title is really just a reference to the fact that the fruit is still unripe and green.
