So my new cam came in the mail and I just had to test it out!
I am trying to get used to it and learn everything but I just set it on auto and did some manual focusing. I don't know why I found the lighting so challenging but I did! I wanted to get the light on the horse but my shadow always seemed to be in the dang shot.
Anywho, critique away :) I'm just a sponge.

    Wow, incredibly clear shots!

I don't quite see what you're talking about with the shadows in the way...

I'm trying to decide what SLR to get, a Sony or Nikon.
These being from the "Auto" setting, definitely has me leaning slightly torward Nikon.

    Congrats on getting the camera!

I am loving the Nikon so far. I was so nervous I wouldn't be able to understand...but now that I have my hands on it and my trusty manual everything I have been reading is starting to make sense.
Good luck with whatever you decide on!

With high contrast lighting, such as high noon, flash is how you fill in the shadows if you don't have reflectors or fill cards.
