First Iris - North Texas !!

Imagine my surprise today when I went to the side yard and discovered the first Iris bloom of the season -- at least a month ahead of schedule.

I'm overjoyed because to me the Iris is the poor man's orchid.

BTW: The white spots are water drops from the sprinkler.

Nice shot. I don't really know much about flowers and when they bloom, but I am suprised to hear it's happening already, we're still covered in snow up here.
