First Lens purchase

Ok, so im gonna buy my first lens for my D40X. My question is would it be a better to buy a 28-135mm lens and sell my 18-55, or to buy a 55-200mm lens and keep my 18-55 lens? I understand that none of these lenses are very good but i just need more reach desperatly.
