This is the first macro I ever took. It was... 1 month ago I think.

Very nice macro Orion. Is it just me or is there a strange shadow in front of the dollar coin?

Man, I wish i could get my macro to turn out that nicely. I think i'm starting to see the advantage of a macro lens as opposed to my close up filters (which are used and dirty and impossible to focus)

sorry for taking forever to respond, but yes there is a shadow in front of the coin  What happened was that I set it up in my makeshift studio (2 pieces of white paper :D ) and I had two lights set up on the left side but my living room light accidentally cast the shadow on the front.

lol, Mr. Sid this board would not be the same w/o your keen observations! :)

Very nicely done, both shots are super! I like the fact that on the first one you can still see the fingerprints.

For a first ever attempt, I think this is excellent. I hate to think what your other shots will be like... :D
