First of Many Firsts....

very, very, very new to photography. Been wanting a DSLR for some time and got one for Christmas. Although, I have no idea of what I'm doing yet, I do love learing the "ins and outs" of photography. I can't wait to progress. Please C + C these first couple images I shot with my new D3000. Thanks all.

Nothing wrong with your exposure, but it's a great start point
first pic - play with crop to utilize the lights n wire cutting across. It's a detracting element but could be worked in nicely.
Welcome and be prepared, the practice n learning is never ending. It is a craft that can leepyour interest if you don't mind constant learning, expansion,,,
