First pictures! Sailing.

These are my first pics. I'm just using a point and shoot, so I'm more concerned with the composition than my technical prowess.

However, ANY suggestions would be thrilling.

Composition is there, 3rd shot has epic noise. other than that....not bad for a P+S. what kind? I have a couple in my stable, Fujifilm z33 for my bike and a Canon Powershot A640 for beater camera / bar hopping / general debauchery / drunken evidence :lmao:

Noise, in a digital sense, is what film grain was back in the day of 35mm. Most point and shoots in full auto will tend to bump up the ISO in a low light setting, thus your noise / grain.

Epic just means you have a lot of it :mrgreen:

So I should reduce the ISO in an overcast setting like that? Recommend 100? 200?

Ideally speaking, but it's not always practical. Especially with a P+S.

To tell the truth, I kind of liked the effect of the noise. Kind of adds an otherworldly feel.
