This was shot with a consumer panasonic digital camera, the lighting was set by me (just 2 lights, one with diffusion as the keylight the other with no diffusion as a backlight) and I'm the model haha. Just told my brother to take the picture. Then, in photoshop I added softness. I'd like to be a photographer but I'm not sure yet. I'm more into filmmaking... maybe a director of photography!

And this one I took myself next to a window, then I added a blue tone in photoshop too.

Please tell me what you think (I know the second one is too bright but that's the idea)

The second one is great IMO. The first is not working for me. There is too much overall softening which is taking the life out of the eyes. Another thing about the eye color......it looks like it's been manipulated. Has it?
Really nice job on the second though. I really like the xprocess post.

is it just me or does it still seem a bit blurry? (or is that from resizing?)

Is it a &S camera? THe first one looks like a high ISO image I'd get from my P&S. I too quite like the second one.

I finally saved up for one and I got it a week ago. They are expensive (well, for a HS student like myself) but they take amazing photos!

Yes the soften mode does make the overall image look soft.....
