First Post - Critique Please!

Here are a couple of photos I took over the weekend, any advice/critique would be greatly appreciated!

The first one is super cute. I wish the lead room was to the right side though.
The second shot is composed nicely for a tight shot but the subject it pretty dark (my screen does suck though) I think if she had a serious face the darkness might work. But with the big smile I feel like she needs to be brighter.
