I kinda like the b&w better.
This was my first roll of film with a Nikon N2020.

Heh I like the idea, that guy looks like he's looking right at the camera. Only nitpicking I can do is say there's a bit too much stuff in the picture; the horse in the corner, that black thing on the table on the left, the white thing that looks like an upside down dixie cup in between the guy and the black thing, the pole next to him (though that doesn't really bother me all that much).

I also would have liked it with the aperature open a bit more, making the background more blurry. Just my opinions, but I'm a photo newbie myself so don't take them too seriously

EDIT: Don't know if it'll happen for anyone else but I had to copy and paste the address into my address bar to get the pictures to show up. If you want a site that allows hotlinking, register at www.photobucket.com, it's free.

Way too busy for me, too much to distract. Is your picture of the room or of the statue? Get rid of everything else with DOF or cropping.

Might just be the digital image, but the subject doesnt seem to be 100% in focus, at least not sharp. Also it seems to busy. the pole on the right is distracting. Same with the object on the left. Maybe if it was in the scene more it would look better. Same with the clock, either put more in or crop/clone it out. :0)

The picture is much sharper, I just have a crappy scanner and no decent photo editing software. Is there any free software that is worthwhile?

I dont think I could use it though, im to use to ps and its short cuts. You could also look into ps elements or psp8 or something. But gimp is free. My fiancee installed it and it gave her some error messages concerning fonts which is strange.

About the photo, I like the composition, but there are definietely too many items scattered throughout.

Photoshop is the best photo editor IMO.
