First Time Shooting Football

Got on the field for a local high school game the other day courtacy of one of the ref's who is a good customer at the coffee kiosk I manage. I had a blast, and would LOVE to do more football. I had to rent a 70-200 2.8 IS though, since it was a night game. Looks like I'll have to save up to buy one now!

You got some decent action shots.

You need to wait for that decisive moments more. In a lot of your shots I know whats going to happen but you snapped the shutter either right before or right after it reached the climax of action.
