First time using DSLR - at the lake

my first time taking pics with a DSLR i just got. Nikon D50.

any constructive criticism/ feedback would be much appreciated!

#1. Perhaps if it were taken from a bridge looking directly down?

#2. The duck on the left is blown out. Also, avoid taking pictures at the normal standing position.

#3. Much better angle, nice dof, I wish I could see the feet.

#4. Take that photo at sunset!
