New to the Forum...thought I'd swing by and introduce myself. My name is Brandon and I'm looking forward to getting into Photography. I do not have any classes or real knowledge under my belt, but hey, that is what this place is for, right?

Anyway, looking at getting a Canon 20D with probably a 17-40 f/4L lens for starters.

Thanks!

Welcome! The 20D is a fine camera. Dont get the 17-40L (sorry guys... I have f/4 lenses and wish they were all f2/8). I feel that f/4 is really only good for daytime use if you are a beginner. Get instead the 17-55mm f2.8 IS. It is waaaay more flexible and the 2.8 will save you during fast moving subjects. It really deserves the L stripe IMHO.

Welcome aboard.
