The very first color in an otherwise drab landscape in this "neck of the woods" comes from the wild Flowering Crabapple trees which are interspersed randomly in the woods.

The second color, following quickly on the heels of the Crabapple, is from the wild Red Bud trees. These two colors only have a short period of time to be in the limelight for the vastly greater number of green trees quickly leaf out and cover over the first colors of Spring.

Great shots. Good to see that there is another photographer out there (if i can even inclue myself in that group) in Texas that has to deal with the lack of color most f the year. Not to mention the haze on ozone days (most summer days). I'm in Grand Prairie (next to dallas), and it's either all dead cause it's cold, or 'cause it's hot and a drought. Good shots.

(Side note, I LOVE Sundance Square. The people, the buildings, 4day weekend....it's much better than deep elum area)
