Flash for my Canon

I Need some advice. I'm looking for a good flash for my Canon Rebel XS- a good flash (definitively not cheap!!) but preferably not too expensive either. I do mostly on location portrait photography. Any suggestions?

430EX or the 580EX if you can afford it.

Metz and Sunpak make some good flashes that won't kill you.

You can save a decent amount of money if you buy used. I recently purchases a used Canon 550EX (predecessor to the 580EX), and I love it. The Yongnuo YN-467 or YN-468 has got good reviews and I just ordered a 467 off eBay myself.

I'll post a review of it myself when it arrives.

I also have a Canon Rebel XS and I bought the 430EX. I've really been enjoying it.
