Thanks for the kind words to everyone. I normally see them as they are flying away. This time, he stood still long enough for me to shoot probably 20 pictures. He just would not turn around so I can get his front and they all basically were the same shot.Nice shot!

Very nice shot. Is it maybe a northern flicker.
To be more accurate this is a male Yellow-shafted Northern Flicker. Moustache makes it a male and yellow tail feathers yellow-shafted. These are found in the East. In the West they are Red-shafted Northern Flickers and have red tail feathers.
