The first one feels a bit awkward, but I think it's because it's a unique execution of an otherwise standard shot. The maroon colors are great. At first I didn't like the leaf coming up so close to the camera, but now I think it adds an extra element of dimension that I like. I'm also hugely fond of the texture that the out-of-focus plans in the background create against the beige color. If anything at all, I would suggest that it be about a half stop brighter.

The second one is good, but just doesn't really catch me. Also, the structure in the background frames out the flowers in a strange way that I find distracting.

Both a good images, but I definitely like the first a lot more. Good job.

Nice shots. In the second one, the red in the background is distracting even though you narrowed down the depth of field. You might have to take them at a different angle to get around that.
