Flower Studies (8 photos)

Taken with Nikon D200, cloudy weather, 2 were shot with incandescent white balance set...accidental, but I like the effect. Comments welcome. Not a macro lens used, just a 75-240 zoom.

These are some nice flower shots, rhododendron are always very pretty subjects!

You much watch it so you never crop off any important petals or stamen or whatever. Sometimes it is better not to move that close to the flower with the camera upon taking the photo and crop later than to get very close and accidentally crop in too closely (see #s 5 and 6).

Ah, well I did actually crop most of these after and had the whole flower in before, I was trying to keep the photos to some sort of regular shape, lol. It is a fine line I am finding between having too much greenery around and too little. I find judging where and how much to crop quite difficult actually with flowers. Which is the rhododendron, lol? I am hopeless on flower types.
