    NIce shot. Welcome to the forum BTW.
    Might just be my monitor, but the flower just seems a little soft. Great DOF and the comp is cool. Maybe boost the contrast a tad?
    But it might still be this cheapy monitor I got.

    Hey CaptBlue! Its a nice pic of a hibiscus flower, I hope you don't mind but I felt it needed a little bit more 'punch' - so I had a quick play to adjust the colours. All I did was crop in slightly to fill more of the frame with your subject, and did an 'auto levels' and 'auto colours' in photoshop. Oh yeah, the frame too...:)
    Next time, try to get in a little closer so that there isnt so much of that blank background on the right hand side - but overall well done!
