Flown the nest

Removing wasp nests from my mothers garage and found this little one
Again Nature's love of the hexagon. One wonders what part of the house is missing as the parent chews all that wood.​

One much larger one had grubs in which were finished off by a robin in short order. At 91 my mother didn't think she wished to share with wasps.

Wasps amaze me, they build some super strong nest all hanging from one 1/4" branch and yet they withstand the strongest storms.
