Focus problem with the Sigma 24mm 1.4 Art

Hey,

ich have the Canon T6i/750D with the Sigma 24mm 1.4 Art lens.

I also bought the Sigma USB Dock and tried to calibrate it.

I haven't had problems with the first three calibratable distances (0.25, 0.35, 0.6) but when I shoot at distances which are further away than those like 2, 5, 10, 20 meters the focus isn't where it should be.

How to calibrate those distances? Do they count as "infinity"?

The AF square might easily cover a BIG area of physical real estate at those distances, so....it's pretty common to have missed focusing at longer distances with short focal length lenses. How wide is the real-world piece of real estate covered by say, the center AF area at 20 meters?

The objects I focus on are mostly bigger than the center AF area..
