Wow! What a way to start your TPF posts! (Welcome!)
This was a posed picture, I assume? I love the lighting, especially how the shadows play around his inside right shoulder. The composition is also bang on, in my opinion.
Edit: I have nominated it.
Wow ! What a great first comment to start my TPF posts !
Thank you for the welcome Harmony , yes , posed , this was part of a demonstration by Shaolin Monks .
I noticed one thing though, it seems to get quite grainy or chunky near his cheek/neck area. Was there excessive contrasting done?
Yes , this was quite a low contrast image as it was shot through light rain and on a badly lit , dim stage with multiple coloured stage lights either side of him , the original also had some odd highlights in his eyes and even though it looks a little eerie I cloned them out .
Amazing, I actually really like the blackness of the eyes. Am I correct in understanding that this was taken at some kind of show/performance?
Geno , thanks for the comment , this was shot at a chinese new year celebration , I also liked the eyes too and was the reason behind naming the image focused .
Phenomenal! That this was captured during a performance just awes me!
