I took this for my friend, who's doing some promotion for a footwear company called Odessa.

The whole thing was pretty 'on the fly' i.e. I didn't have most of my equipment with me so they're not being used for the final adverts - it was more of a preliminary shoot so that we could see what worked. In view of the fact that I'll be reshooting with proper lighting etc in a week or so, what advice can you guys offer me?

Less depth of field.... I suppose you want the focus to be on the product. right now my eyes seem to go to that person's face instead.

Yea, same here. My eye started at the top, face, and worked its way down.

    Can others edit my Photos:
    Photos NOT OK to edit
The perspectives great, just a shallower dof like theyve said here and maybe not so much of an alarming background color like the blown out sky.

Looks like your onto something here, good luck :D

Thanks for the advice, I'll see what I can do about that depth of field. Karalee - would you suggest exposing for the sky and using flash? I'm not sure how much difference it would make, because the sky in England is that colour for about 9 months of the year!
