Then as we were turning around we both noticed something large and brown where we'd never seen anything before so I brought my lens to bear on the subject to find........

That's right! The great Canadian Hay bale. Needles to say we were both thrilled with the discovery.

I like the whole set, but the redtail pic is a really good one. They are one of the most photographed raptors, but something about yours stands out to me.

Finally, I have something around here that appears more often than in your area. Those elusive hay bales are incredibly hard to get a shot of. But if you're ever in my area, let me know. I know a few places where they hang out in a field and I can help you sneak up on them.
