Found these old lenses at my Mom's place

JC penny lenses were made by soligor mostly. That's a korean optics company I think.

Seeing JC Penny on an optical device sounds... wrong though ;-(

Same with Sears lenses. Even if they are good lenses, (good, not great, not excellent, just good) the name on the side would scare me off. :)

Sounds like he has a nice set of 55mm threaded close-up lenses. They can be used on anything.

As for the Vivitar flash. They are just fine for manual, work as automatic flashes, but not TTL, and known battery eaters! Buy re-chargeables. The tilt head on the 3500 is nice if you want to use it as a bounce fill flash.

These are new enough that the trigger voltage should not be a problem or harmful when used with newer digital cameras.

Sears, Honeywell, JC Penny, Heiland....

They all sold stuff rebranded from Japanese manufacturers.

You have to remember that in those days, Japanese products were synomymous with LOW QUALITY. They were hoping for better sales if sold with an American brand or retailer.

Boy have things changed....
