freeky sunset

    The very high clouds made a strange kind of rainbow during sunset.
    I played with the levels, but nothing else.

    Well, if I have to live in the holy city of Jerusalem, I might as well use it to directly contact the skies :lol: .

    Awesome shot! I'm never able to photograph optical phenomena. I never have my camera handy. :|

    By the way, that's a halo, which is caused by refracted light passing through ice crystals in cirriform clouds. Basically, a rainbow that can form with the sun at any angle, so long as the temperature requirements are met. :)

    I might add that I like the inclusion of the silhouetted trees and bushes in this photo very much. They add to the impression of the sky being a very big dome so much! And bind this wonderful phenomenon to the ground ... something is touching here, in a way.
