Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
My friend makes Jewelry and I offered to do a little shoot with her. Just for fun.
She was thrilled with the photos... I liked some but not all.
What do you think?

I like #1, but perhaps it needs to be cropped. Too much negative space?

#3 is pretty, but unfortunately it is difficult to make out the necklace against that rock. The rock needs to contrast more so that the necklace is more visible.

#4 needs to be cropped too. Too much negative space.

Two main concerns I have with these images: (1) There's too much DoF and the jewlery does not stand out enough from the background. #3 makes good use of selective focus, but there is (as mentioned above) too much unused space. The jewlery should be the subject, not lost in the image, and, (2) The colours in the backgrounds are too similar to the jewlery. Try rich, contrasting tones which will make the jewlery stand out rather than blend in.

Good work; keep at it!

too much DoF? The DoF is really shallow actually....

I LOOVE this jewlery!! Is it made here, or Israel maybe? I think I see Hebrew on the box...

the last one is my favorite..but the hay/grass in the way of jewerly kind of kills it for me. its a love hate thing

#5 is my favorite. Good Job!

DOF is too shallow. you want to get the whole thing in focus with any kind of product photography

Jewelry

Women..and men, want to see; WOW, oOHH and aAHHH!!

These images are very plain, where the foreground and backround blend in with the products.

Try again and make the jewelry shine, sparkle and grab your eye.

If you stand back a couple of feet from the monitor, you will not see the jewelry.

love the last one but i think you need some contrasting colors for your setup blends too much with the actual subject.

I agree...

Thanks for the feedback everyone, and for the one who asked - it is made in Israel :) I'm here on vacation.

Anyway, if I am to shoot her jewelry again, what should I do? what kind of set ups should I have? I'm thinking of using a model actually
